Narrate The Story Of Post-World War II Immigration

The world has witnessed two big wars that have devasted everything. However, it all happened due to political conflicts among various countries that created issues between them. These unresolved issues extended and became the reasons for the horrible confrontation of nations. It made them rivals to each other and they prepared their military forces on the border. They increased their number to prepare them for the attack on their neighborhood enemies. So, the tenure of the 1st world war happened in 1914 and ended in 1918. It took four consistent years to have a cease-fire and reconciliation. Therefore, after some peace and comfort, the second most brutal world war began in 1939. It caused people to apply for post-world war ii immigration. The UK faced a lot of problems in its financial and economic matters. It had a scarcity of resources available for work in various technical fields of professions. However, the country invited several commonwealth nations around to be a part of it.

Germany was the common and mutual part of both of these battles that happened around the globe. So, it left with nothing, but ashes and debris that indicate the massive level of destruction in the world. After the cease-fire in 1945, these countries had challenges to encounter in their management and administration. People starved for food due to shortage and experienced a miserable era in the aftermath of this devastation that ruined everything completely.

Factors Of Post World War ii Immigration:

The trend for migration was not so much common at that time of the era. This is because people mainly prefer to stay in their homeland to feel safer. They did not want to bother themselves to decide to relocate from one place to another. Thus, the idea of post-world war ii immigration was absolutely a tough challenge for immigrants to fulfill and accomplish. Especially, for third-world countries, it was impossible to utilize the means of technology and find the courage to travel in an airplane. They did it for the very first time in their life and made it a habit later on with frequent opportunities to move around.

People from South Asia performed their first international tour in 1950. It was right after the second world war to bring a change in their life. They took this risk blindly and unrealizing to do something better for their own family and kids. So, the thought of kids came to their mind first which pushed them to jump into the unseen future as they never know what would happen to them. They arrived in the UK for better work opportunities that were not available in their own country. But they found a worse situation there to make struggle to find a job. People were ready to do anything for money.

Filled The Labor Gaps:

The UK government opened their legal visas for commonwealth countries after the war to invite them to their country for work. However, they eased their post-world war ii immigration process and made it smooth for them to pass through it. Therefore, people started to reach there and looked for opportunities to grab them quickly. Hence, they filled the gaps of vacancies with their physical presence but received a very low number of wages for their service. They spent their longer hours of the day in heat and sunlight. But never got a fair return on their investment.

Thus, they invested their money in their passport and visas to avail themselves of air tickets to their destination. But after reaching there, they experienced a practical injustice in every matter of remuneration and accommodation. They were stuffed and overcrowded in small slums that made them suffocated to breathe. But they had to adjust there anyway and there was no advantage of making the complaint or raising their voice for their basic human rights. So, they had no other choice except to keep quiet and do their work honestly. Their initial sacrifice brought sweet fruit to them later for their patience and endurance. They cleared the way for their future generations to stay there forever. Now they enjoy the luxury status and have everything that they desire in their personal life.

Eradicated The Poverty:

People from South Asia belong to the poor class population. Although, there are wealthy families they are only two percent of the entire country. The major inhabitants are poor, especially from the Punjab. These Punjabis look for work abroad and earn tremendous money from doing various odd jobs. They are ready to do anything and do not feel shame or embarrassment about it. So, they fill the supply and consumption of these countries to be available to them at a lower cost.

Hence, they find accommodation in groups and share their rent to ease their load and burden. These immigrants apply in abroad countries on work permit visas but find their permanent immigration after reaching there. Their constant hard work and struggle give them the strength to come out of their vicious circle of poverty. They do their savings and send money back to build a magnificent house there.

Find A Mix Of Culture:

These immigrants have a peaceful life in their homeland. But they leave the comfort of village-style living to raise their standard. They apply to foreign nations and go there for work. So, there they become familiar with a different culture that is modern and Western. People observe this tradition for the first time in their lives and soon become a part of it. They feel good to be there and never want to come back to their place of origin. Their families also arrive there and live together with these immigrants.

These people have the courage and patience to adjust to any kind of situation that happens to them. Their only focus is earning money and they give their complete attention to it. They work immensely hard to establish their name and reputation abroad and others know and identify them with respect.
